From an entry in a Faberge account book: “Triptych Egg of opalescent white enamel with 2 relief crosses in red enamel, 2 miniatures of the Grand Duchesses Olga and Tatyana, and 3 icons of the Resurrection of Christ, Saint Olga and Saint Tatyana, painted by Zuiev.

The Egg was made for the Empress Alexandra Fedorovna, and is known today as the Red Cross Triptych. In 1927 the State Repository Commission valued the Egg at 125 rubles. In 1930 it was purchased by Armand Hammer for $250, based on a valuation by Antikvariat, and resold to India E. Minshall in 1943.
